The client and their context: an auction-based clearance platform
destockage.io is a professional online auction platform dedicated to clearance sales. The model is based on a volume of products put up for sale with a starting price and a limited duration.
To function, the platform had to be as simple for buyers as for the administrator, while giving the latter a clear view of the profitability of each sale.
The need: real-time auctions, support, and profitability
- A complete auction system and automated;
- an alternative to’Buy it now for certain products;
- A visitor assistance to address questions about how it works;
- A followed by the margin product by product.
What we have achieved
The site is developed using WordPress with WooCommerce and the Auction Pro plugin; the design was created with Divi for clear navigation. Each product is listed with photos, a description, a starting price, and customizable auction duration and increments. Registered users bid in real time, see the highest bidder, and receive an email when their bid is outbid or an auction ends. Buy It Now can be enabled for each product individually, and payment is processed by WooCommerce immediately after the auction closes.
A conversational AI integrated into the site answers frequently asked questions at any time (bidding procedure, payment, delivery), guides new users and encourages them to register, bid or buy, thus reducing the support required.
Finally, we have developed an internal margin calculation tool: purchase price and additional costs (shipping, taxes, commission), automatic calculation based on the final price, profitability display in the administration panel.
